12 Mile Coulee District
District Commissioner - Kathy
Camp Keyholder - Kathy
12 Mile Coulee District serves the communities of Tuscany, Valley Ridge and Crestmont. The district was created in 2016. 12 Mile Coulee District and the eponymous coulee and nearby road were originally named as they were approximately 12 miles from the post office in Fort Calgary, and the area served as a mail drop on the stagecoach run to Cochrane.
In 2017, 12 Mile Coulee held District Thinking Days in February run by the Pathfinder unit and District Campfires in October where each unit leads a song. These are done over two evenings so all units are able to participate. Units in 12 Mile Coulee are very active going on field trips, having guest speakers, camping, doing service projects, and attending Area events such as STEM and Canoe days.
